Recently, whilst visiting the Keighley blues club in West Yorkshire, I learned all about listening to blues music, and how its a great therapy for the soul! It taught me that blues music has the ability to touch all those around you including children with disabilities and people going through troubled times; it’s a great medicine.
Often blues music can also come from times of accomplishments because, in those times, you come across pain as you take on your journey to achieve your goals. Singing blues songs, many people don’t know, is a great source of creativity and can help with the funding of day to day life, while other skills can be developed from learning to write soulful music.
Even though blues music is about heartbreaks and tragedies, its also about healing and about giving voice to all your hidden feelings. Blues music consists of different cultures, you’ve Eastern Europe, Middle East, American, Hindi and so on.
Sitting down in the Keighley Blues Club, all comfortable with a glass or two of wine is a great feeling; surrounded by the wonderful friendly people in a fantastic venue, the venue will always cater to different styles of blues artists but some of the best have been rock blues. They a have a great appeal to the younger generation.
